The REACH Regulation marks a fundamental reform of European chemicals legislation. REACH regulates the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and restriction of Chemicals. Aims of this regulation are to improve safe handling of chemicals to protect human health and environment as well as strengthen the competiveness of the European chemical industry. The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) in Helsinki oversees the implementation of the REACH program and helps companies to comply with it.
Pre-registration On December 1st 2008 the pre-registration period ended. All chemical substances which have been identified as requiring registration by Trade Grade Products Ltd have been submitted for pre-registration to the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA). Respective confirmation has been sent by ECHA. As we are primarily a Downstream User, we are reliant on our upstream suppliers for the pre-registration / registration of our raw materials. SVHC and Annex XIV Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) are published by the European Chemicals Agency in the Candidate List (http://echa.europa.eu). Because this list is continuously updated, it is subject to permanent monitoring by us. Whenever new substances are included in the list, all of our formulations are checked accordingly. The majority of our products are preparations/mixtures. Article 31 describes the obligation to inform about preparations/mixtures. That means dangerous substances like SVHC have to be mentioned in the European Safety Data Sheets. Special obligations of information concerning SVHC in articles are described in Article 33 of the REACH ordinance because articles have not been regulated by the old chemicals legislation even if articles contained dangerous substances. If preparations or articles contain substances ≥ 0.1 % weight by weight of the ECHA candidate list (last updated 20th of June 2013), they are mentioned in the EU / REACH SDS. This might be the case for products which are exclusively designated for industrial applications. According to the information we received so far and to our own investigations, we assume that the packaging of our products also do not contain any of the substances included in the candidate list in a concentration above 0.1 % weight by weight. Should we receive contrary information, which we do not expect, we will advise you immediately. For more information on any obligation you will have under REACH, we recommend that you consult the REACH website at the European Chemicals Agency website. REACH STATEMENT We, Trade Grade Products Ltd, hereby confirm that we always observe the prescriptions of REACH (1907/2006/EC) regulation and the products we sell are fully compliant with the relevant regulation. Trade Grade Products Ltd is a downstream user and as such we are liable for information towards the customers. We are not liable for registration of substances. Goods, which are purchased from TGP, do not have to be registered. Chemical substances contained in our goods, which may be subject to registration, have to be registered exclusively by our suppliers. The products and packaging materials we sell to our current knowledge do not contain substances, above the legal threshold, that are on the Candidate List of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) as published on the ECHA website on 15th June 2015 Should our goods or packages materials contain SVHC materials in the future, we will inform our customers if the reporting requirements are fulfilled. Trade Grade Products Ltd does not intend to communicate REACH pre-registration numbers based on guidance in CEFIC REACH Industry Preparation Letter No 9.
